New from Privateer
As the old thread remains impaired I will start a new one.

-------------------------------------------

June heralds the first of Privateer Press’s new plastic miniature kits, the Exemplar Bastions. Our new plastic models maintain the excellent detail and quality you’ve come to expect from Privateer Press. These models were designed with the hobbyist in mind, and the high-quality plastic makes assembly and conversion work easier than ever before. Best of all, each Exemplar Bastion kit contains a full five-man unit.

The Exemplar Bastion Unit comes in a box (PIP 32058, MSRP $44.99).

For more information on everything these fantastic new kits hold in store be sure to check out No Quarter Magazine #24 this June, and get ready to lay down the rule of the Lawbringer!

RE: New from Privateer
And a little catch up...

Megalith’s eyes glow with something greater than the will of its master, something akin to self-awareness. This stone goliath sometimes wanders where it believes itself most needed, extending its immense restorative power to nearby woldwardens, allowing them to advance together as a crushing wall while shrugging off enemy attacks.

RE: New from Privateer
Details are sketchy, but apparently there's some talk about Mark II in the latest NQ, and some stores have got it early. here is the 100% unconfirmed dodgy details that have leaked thus far...

Apparently Shadow Shift's gone. (They've got some sort of Vengeance ability that triggers on their controller's control phase apparently the Charger's got a "Powerful Attack" ability.

There's supposedly hints to changes at the point system, like Warcasters might be free depending on the point-level, and each warcaster having a certain amount of "free" points to spend on Warjacks.

Unit formations will be tied to command range somehow, and if the leader dies you can promote someone else in the unit to be the new leader.

RE: New from Privateer
Oh - and PPS Biggie says that if the Exemplers had been metal they would have been closer to USD$86 for five, instead of the USD$45 we are paying for plastic.

RE: New from Privateer
Yes. Go plastions. So is the megalith going to be plastic? And does anyone have a release date for the new hordes locks?

RE: New from Privateer
A big (still unconfirmed) one - Whereas we currently have melee, magic and ranged damage, MkII will feature more types of damage with some models/units sporting immunity to some types of damage (eg Stormblades could be immune to electrical damage).

This could be really cool as long as the accompanying game mechanics are clear and kept clutter free. Man I am looking fwd to April!

RE: New from Privateer
the remaining hordes epics are apparently being released on the 11th and the 25th, but rumour has it that the ones slated for release on the 25th (eThag and one of the other three) will actually be available on the 11th

as yet, i believe there is no word on release for the other 4

RE: New from Privateer
First impression: Bastions look great!
Second impression: Damn, we still get duplicate poses in units? I guess I'm spoiled by GW-style posable models, but it comes as bit of a surprise.
Third impression: Actually, it really looks to me like they've tried to mimic the sculpting style of metal in plastic - the style of the cloth as seen in the 360 view on PP's page really puts me in mind of how it would be on a cast metal model.

RE: New from Privateer
Bastions look awesome - quick conversion means that $45US unit will end up being around $60-$70 on DG. Love the plastic!!! Plastic means there are never duplicate poses!
1 unit for Dan please!

NQ is supposed to be out towards the end of the month - more than likely same release date as MonPoc I Chomp NY (20th Mar) or second wave of March e'locks (25th Mar).

Just a quick DG store aside with our new supplier we will be getting things a bit closer to release dates - around 1 week rather than 2-3 sometimes 4 weeks after 8)

RE: New from Privateer
Love the bastions. It almost makes me want to start Menoth.

Just saw all the epics in MGs so looks like the rumours are true about an early release date too.

Also, just in case you didn't get my email Dano, please make sure you put aside an Ethagrosh for me. I don't think I'll be able to live without him. I'm in lurve

RE: New from Privateer
I quite like the bastions, and hopefully the price will make them a must buy, rather than something to be put off.

Megalith is decent, but his arms and pose just look a bit gimpy. Not different enough from the regular wolds in my opinion.

Horthol looks pretty decent as well.

If I could be a bird, I think I'd be a penguin, because then I could walk around on two feet with a lot of other guys like me.
